Introduction Everyone likes positivity, most of the celebs we follow, or the sportsperson we admire, or the politician we praise are often associated with positivity. You would have probably heard about the popular saying " If you aren’t being positive, then you’re doing something wrong   ", which for most of us is true but is it? SO to become famous almost all the so-called celebrities gain your attention through their social media page and to increase their followers they make people excited about their content by showering some fake positivity. They portrait their image as they are the happiest person alive, flaunt about their skills and money but in reality, they are not that fun to be around. It is one of the main flaws in our society that we judge people by the number of their followers or by the content they post, we just assume they are doing great with their life, they have their life figured out but it is not always the case. Reality Because of this recent toxic tre

Stanford Prison Experimen

Ethics and the Stanford situation research In 1971 Philipp Zimbardo carried out one of the most ethically contentious science research that was called' Stanford Prison research Earlier he proposed to learn how much our behavior is structured by the societal activity we inhabit. Describing this report briefly 24 undergraduates with no illegal and scientific evidence were selected for this investigation to make the roles of captives and guards at the mock situation situated at this basement of Stanford University Phillip Zimbardo's Standford Prison Experiment is one of the most amazing psychological experiments of all time. It indicated that the human brain will be controlled and altered if the amount of force one gets is not under control. In the essay, I am going to discuss variables that impacted the research. ethics and psychology of a human.

In late 60s there were many cases of guard brutality in prison in USA, to understand this topic one psychologist named Philip Zimbardo conducted experiments on 14 august 1971, in which he created a simulation of prison to understand the behavioral change of person in the prison
He chose 24 students for this experiment through various personality test, to get the best sample. These selected students were then sent to a fake prison and on a flip of a coin they were divided into 2 groups, one  group acted as a guards of prison and the other group has to play the role of prisoners. Zimbardo told the guards to be rude and disrespectful towards the prisoners for the sake of the experiment.

Day 1
To make the situation more real, the prisoners were ordered by the guards to wore female stocking on their heads and they were not called by their names but with the no. which they have been assigned. Out of brutality on the 1 St day of the experiment, one prisoner out of guards brutality, he locked the door from inside and refused to open it, eventually guards broke the door and   attacked the prisoner with a fucking fire extinguisher.

Day 2
One of the prisoner started to act like crazy, he started screaming  and abusing the guards, and finally Doc released him from the experiment.
Day 3
These guards started act like a sadist, they ordered the prisoners to not to urinate in the bowl provided, the ill behavioured prisoner were sometime punished by removing the mattress of their beds, leaving them to sleep on the cold concrete.
Day 4
Zimbrdo (head of the experiment) heard a rumor that the released prisoner was going to come and stop the experiment,so to prevent it from happening he prepared a speech for that but like most of the rumour it was fake, now he had started acting like more like prison ward, which was bad for experiment as the duty of a experimentalist is to observe the experiment not to be a part of them.

Day 5
Hunger started, prisoners were protesting against the brutality of the guards, the student who started the strike was called prisoner 416 he was sent to the "THE HOLE" which was a small room where there was no source of light and 416 was kept isolated days from his fellow inmates for almost 2 days.
Day 6
When the doc discussed this experiment with his girlfriend soon to be fiance, she was very upset and started seeing some change in docs personality, she somehow convinced Doc to call off the experiment and so he did.

Conclusion
Initially the experiment was for 14 days, but, it was called off after 6 day.
The experiment faced a lot of criticism and there were some huge personality changes in both of the group members, in an interview one so called prisoner said that he felt inferior, was suffering from depression during the experiment, he further said most of the guards were sadist and were acting like a complete douche.
IT had its positive effect also, as it helped us to understand how the brain functioned when it is exposed to high level of authority and power.
This experiment was on of its own kind
